The Klein's

Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't, and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it. – Harvey Mackay

Do you have a comfort food? The recipe you remember as a kid, or picked up from roommates or your spouses family. I make a mean lasagna that my college roommates mom taught me, but that’s not the go to. Nope, in our house it’s Grandma Lucy’s cabbage and noodles.

1. One pound of bacon

2. One large head of cabbage

3. One large sweet onion

4. Two heaping tablespoons of minced garlic

5. Salt and pepper to taste

6. Bacon grease

7. One box bowtie noodles

It’s the perfect recipe for a Cystic Fibrosis family, because it’s all things salty. It’s way unhealthy with all that bacon grease, but the good things usually are right?

So, tomorrow is Election Day. The country will be angry. The television will be consumed. I thought it was the perfect time to share our favorite, CF friendly comfort food.
